Liz Brierley
About
Liz is a registered sick children’s nurse and lactation consultant (IBCLC) with over 13 years of experience working within the field of paediatrics and infant nutrition and breastfeeding. She spent a number of years running a large human milk bank in Cape Town, South Africa and lectured at the University of Cape Town covering topics such as infant nutrition, breastfeeding and kangaroo mothercare. She also worked as a clinic sister at a busy Baby clinic which involved vaccinating infants and supporting mothers with breastfeeding problems in a hospital and home setting. Having realised that there was a massive gap in postnatal care and emotional support provided to mothers and also having had her first child, Vivienne, Liz has made it a priority to offer knowledgeable, compassionate, mother and baby centred pre and postnatal care. She lives in Bristol, UK and has a private practice offering home visits and antenatal teaching.
Services
Antenatal Visit
Whether you need basic breastfeeding information to address your concerns, whether your expecting twins, or if you need to work through a previous breastfeeding experience I am here for you. I can also give you advise on how to care for your newborn infant.
Postnatal Visit
I aim to address your problems and concerns in the comfort of your own home. At the end of your visit we would have developed a realistic plan of action that works for you and your family, leaving you feeling confident and content. I will provide continuous telephonic support after the visit, feel free to contact me if you have any further concerns.
Follow-up Visit
I will review and assess how the feeding is going and adapt the plan of action if need be. I can also address additional questions that you may have and discuss any further options that you may like to explore.
